This painting is about being by the ocean in the early morning on a still day. It was painted from an early morning down at Dolls Point in Sydney. It is about capturing that calmness and sound of the small waves on the shore at that time of day. Timeless and tranquil.

It is also inspired by the late Geoffrey Dyer who has been and will always be an inspiration to me and my painting. It was seeing his paintings many years ago that inspired me to paint on a large scale.

This painting is painted using artist quality Winsor and Newton watercolours on 100% cotton rag French etching paper. It is then varnished using archival quality golden UVLA varnish and then wrapped around a 15once canvas with hardwood stretcher bars.
